This is a busy month for the Central Auto Racing Boosters starting with the next General Membership Meeting which will be conducted on January 9, 2010 at Park Place Hotel,1601 N. Universal Ave. KCMO 64120. The meeting will start at 7:00 P.M.
The January meeting is always a decision making meeting as the club must install the 2010 Officers, Board of Directors, and Committee Chairmen, vote to approve the 2010 budget, vote to approve the 2010 Standing Rules, and conduct the Blood Bank drawing for those who donated in 2009.
This will also be the meeting where we announce the 2010 Inductees into the C.A.R.B. Hall of Fame.Time is also running out to sign up your Bowlathon Team for the 17th Annual bowling tournament at North Kansas City Pro Bowl on January 30, 2010 starting at 8:30 P.M. Everyone is guaranteed to win a prize. Teams consist of four members of which one must be of the opposite sex. Cost is $12 per person or $48 per team. We will be finding out which C.A.R.B. supported track has the best bowlers.
Teams from I-35 and Lakeside have already registered we are awaiting teams from Valley and Central Missouri Speedway. One of these teams will be taking home a special prize.

This tournament, which was Wilma Claxton's idea 17 years ago, has directly led to one driver making it to NASCAR. Wilma's idea spawned the Bowlathon, which led the Central Auto Racing Boosters to start a NASCAR jacket bowling league which put together Tom Wilson and Scott Traylor, which led to the radio show Track Talk, which lead to Clint Bowyer driving for Scott Traylor, which led to Richard Childress watching that race, which led to Clint Bowyer becoming a NASCAR star. So everyone involved should thank Wilma Claxton for her role in the Central Auto Racing Boosters.Other agenda items for the meeting include the 7th Hall of Fame Award Appreciation Dinner on March 6, 2010, the C.A.R.B. Clyde Ellis Race On/Snake Saturday Parade on March 13, 2010, the second annual Ride for the Victory on June 6, 2010, and the 16th Annual Golf Tournament, May 23, 2010. The next General Membership Meeting is scheduled on January 30, 2010 in the meeting room of NKC Pro Bowl prior to the Bowlathon.
