CARB Hall of Fame Week Is Here
It is Hall of Fame Week for the Central Auto Racing Boosters. Saturday evening, March 6, the seventh class consisting of Luther Brewer, Johnny Luteran, Jim Penney, Tiger Bob Williams, and Ken Taylor will be inducted. Racing Pioneers Jimmy Sams, Guy McHenry, Otto Haggert, Jimmy Campbell, Oliver Jennings, Dutch Miller, Scotty Scoville, and George Smith will be inducted as the Pioneer class of racers which broke ground for our past and present racing heroes. As an added bonus, Mike Kraft has worked with C.A.R.B. and the inductees and created video presentations. These video presentations are being released via www.youtube.com and will be shown at the awards presentation. Additionally, the videos will serve as a link to our racing history as they become part of the Hall of Fame Museum.
The 7th Hall of Fame Appreciation Dinner will be held at the Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes at Central Park, Gladstone, Mo 64118. Take North Oak Trafficway (North) off I-29 to 68th street turn right and two blocks east the road runs directly into the parking lot. Meal time is 5:30 with the ceremony to start at approximately 6:30 P.M.
Master of Ceremonies will be Bob Baker, Executive Director of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. Seating is limited so don’t delay. Tickets are $10 each to cover the cost of the Christy's Catering meal and the venue. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Diana Green at 816-280-3713.
