New this year at both race tracks is the two seat Grand National, which provides rides between the completion of hotlaps and the start of the races, again at intermission, and again at the completion of the nights racing events. A steering wheel and pedals were installed in the passenger side of the car which provides the feel of actually driving the car. Rides can be purchased for $25 for a green, white, checkered session. But wait that only covers the ride, how about owning the 1972 El Camino?
The Central Auto Racing Boosters are conducting a raffle for a 1972 El Camino to be drawn at the seasoning ending racing banquet on December 4, 2010. Proceeds from this raffle will help C.A.R.B. purchase a building for the Hall of Fame Museum. Tickets are currently on sale for $20 each or 6 tickets for $100. Tickets for this raffle are also available at McCarthy Chevrolet, Lakeside Speedway, I-35 Speedway, Seeburg Muffler, any C.A.R.B. event, or see any C.A.R.B. officer or board of director.
