I-35 Speedways annual drivers meeting has a great turnout!


A great turnout for the I-35 Speedway Drivers Meeting saw drivers and crew from I-35 Speedway, Lakeside Speedway as well as other tracks, come together last Saturday morning to discuss rule additions for the upcoming season.

I-35 Speedway and Lakeside Speedway competition director J.D. Green gave an informative talk regarding 2010 rules and the new Stock Car Border War with Lakeside Speedway and implementing the one-way radios at I-35 Speedway.

Along with the Stock Cars the Grand Nationals will continue to run the border war with Lakeside. The only change to the Grand National border war pay scale is a positive one, if you win at Lakeside on Friday and I-35 Speedway the following Saturday or I-35 Speedway on Saturday and the following week at Lakeside Speedway on Friday night you will receive a $250 bonus. If you finish in the top 2 at one track and follow up with a top 2 finish at the other track the immediate next race night you will receive a $100 bonus. If you finish in the top 3 at one track and follow up with a top 3 finish at the other track the immediate next race night you will receive a free pit pass.

Also coming to I-35 Speedway is Tom Mathison the technical director at Lakeside Speedway. Tom will serve as Pit Steward and assist I-35 Speedways I.M.C.A. Tech Official Steve Adkins.

A two seat grand national is being built by Jim and Blake Peeler to give rides to fans, it gives spectators the opportunity to see what it's like in the eyes of a driver. Drivers for the two seat grand national are yet to be announced.

Practice days for I-35 Speedway will be March 27th and April 3rd, gates open at 1pm practice is from 2pm-6pm. The next week April 10th is opening night for I-35 Speedway.
