A Central Missouri native Tom Corbin began racing with a $50 car that he had to borrow $25 to buy in 1959. Tom entered his 1st race at Thunder Bowl Speedway in Sedalia MO.

Tom and his brother-in-law George Lasoski get together in 1962 and put together a b-mod "super modified", that ran on gas and a carburater, Tom is running this car at Sportsman Speedway Marshall MO.

For the last few races of 1964 he switches the car over to fuel injection and heads to Knoxville for the nationals, in just his 3rd time racing with injection Tom finishes 4th at the Knoxville Nationals.

Over the years Tom will run with C.M.R.A., I.M.C.A., U.S.A.C., and most of the fair races that were where all the racers got together at the end of the season to really see who was the best regionally.

In the very 1st World of Outlaw race at Devil's Bowl in his 1st race with that group Tom came home 3rd, this was with the best sprint car drivers and cars that their was at the time.

1977-78-79 were good years for Tom as he would win 28 races in one of those years a lone. During this time Tom was ranked 3rd in the nation by Speed Sport News "THE" top racing publication at the time.

Tom did quite a bit of asphalt racing about the time I-70 was asphalt, he also ran some in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Florida including a 500 lap race at Sunshine Speedway in Tampa FL.

Tom was also known for his car building, mechanical ability, and tutoring starting drivers coming into the sport, Tom built about 12 cars some of which other drivers took to victory lane many times, ask Roy Hibbard about this.

I don't how else to say it other than, Tom was the man to beat no matter where or when, another great selection for the 2016 Class of the C.A.R.B Hall of Fame Inductee's Tom Corbin. Enjoy.
