LUCAS OIL MIDWEST LATE MODELS RETURN TO THUNDER HILL JUNE 16

One of the highlights of the Northeast Kansas racing season is the annual arrival of the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series at Thunder Hill. The match of the fastest dirt track stock cars and the fastest high-banked track in the area always makes for spectacular racing, and this year’s edition should be no exception.

"We're really excited to be racing at Thunder Hill," commented Promoter Harriett Chancellor. "The Conkwright family has just done terrific things with Thunder Hill Speedway..It's a one of a kind place and a favorite amongst our drivers."

The MLRA drivers will be competing for points in their regional series. John Anderson is the current points leader, and is trailed by perennial MLRA star David Turner, Kevin Sather, Will Vaught, Jesse Stovall, Mark Dotson, Terry Phillips, Chad Simpson, Bill Leighton, and Bryon Allison. Anderson has won several races at Thunder Hill, and will be looking to defend his point lead.

Also in action will be four IMCA classes from the weekly Xtreme Motor Sports Clash on the Hill. The BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modifieds, the Heinen Repair Service IMCA Stock Cars, the Kansas National Guard IMCA Northern Sport Mods, and the BuyRaceParts.com IMCA Hobby stocks will all be competing.

Drivers will be competing for their share of a $20,000 purse, with $3,000 to win for the Lucas Oil Late Model Feature winner.

Gates open at 5:00 PM, driver’s meeting at 6:30, hotlaps and races to follow. Adult General Admission is $15.00, kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $30.00.

Thunder Hill Speedway is located at 11995 NW 142nd Road (2 miles West of US-75 on NW 142nd Road), in Mayetta, KS. For more information, please visit http://www.racethunderhillspeedway.com.

Also the Lucas Oil MLRA will have the 2 seater late model on hand. They will be raffling off a ride at intermission and will also be selling rides to be done after the nights races. This a fun time and a full blown 2 seat late model stop by and see the display before the nights races!
