THIS IS TO CLARIFY HOW CAM SHAFT LIFT WILL BE CHECKED.
11. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
Engines in this class should remain completely stock OEM as produced by the OEM manufacture. No Factory OEM or Aftermarket Performance parts or Engines of any kind can be used. The intent of the engine rules in this class is for these engines to be completely Stock OEM.
This previous statement is in the in the 2014 Pure Stock class Rules.

RULE CLARIFICATION: AS OF August 10, 2014. Checking Camshaft Total (or) Maximum Lift at the Valve.
1. You will be asked to remove a Valve Cover and then to remove 1 (one) Intake Rocker Arm.
2. We will then install a fixture that screws onto the Rocker Stud. Then a Flat Surface fixture will be
placed over and on the Push Rod. A Dial Indicator will then be installed and placed to measure cam
lift at the push rod. This will give us the cam lobe lift.

3. The engine will then be rotated buy hand to make sure we are on the heel (or) backside of the
camshaft. We will make sure there is no lift being measured at this point before setting the dial
indicator marker arrow to zero.
4. You will then be asked to rotate the engine and camshaft lift will be taken. Once the Max Cam Lift
measurement has been determined, we will then multiply that number X (times) 1.5 (1.5 is the
maximum Rocker Arm Ratio you are allowed) and that will give you the total maximum camshaft lift
at the valve.

****NOTE**** Maximum Cam Lift taken at the Push Rod cannot exceed .286 in lift. If it does your max

camshaft lift at the valve will exceed .430.

Example: Measured camshaft lift is .280.

.280 X 1.5 = .420 / will pass.

.290 X 1.5 = .435 / will be DQ.
