GRABO EDGES CHARLESIN XTREME MOTOR SPORTS CLASH ON THE HILL

Jordan Grabouski is still able to score wins at Thunder Hill Speedway, as he proved Saturday night. But it’s getting tougher. Veterans are getting faster, and some drivers are showing that they are able to push on even without all four wheels. Grabouski found the Pit Stop Liquor Victory Lane in the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified feature, while Lance Borgman broke Kyle Vanover’s domination of the Heinen Repair Service IMCA StockCar action, Matthew Crowell scored the win in the Kansas National Guard IMCA Northern SportMods, Adam Armstrong in BuyRaceParts.com IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Scott Spellmeier won the IMCA Sport Compact feature.

Polesitter Scott Brown brought the BSB IMCA Modified featureto the green flag. Brown has struggled with mechanical and handling issues this year and has been off form. This was not the case, however, Saturday night, as the popular Holton driver showed plenty of speed and was able to stay in the fight all race long. As Brown moved out to a lead, Jordan Grabouski and Tom Charles were battling their way past Justin Becker. Becker had earlier shown his own grit by winning his heat race minus a left front wheel and tire. As Charles and Grabouski joined the fight at the front, Brown was edged back to third. At the flag, it was Grabouski over the veteran Charles, with Brown third, Becker fourth, and Nic Bidinger fifth.

Winning the IMCA Stock Car feature was the second struggle of the night for Lance Borgman; the first was simply getting to the track, as he had hauler trouble just north of the Speedway at Holton. After arriving too late to start the heat, he started in the back of the pack and cut his way through it to score a well deserved win. Jim Powell Jr. was second, Mike Taylor continued to improve his Stock Car results with a third place finish, Marvin Griffith Jr. was fourth, and Jack Finan rounded out the top five with his best run of the season.

Matthew Crowell has knocked on the door of scoring a win in the IMCA Northern Sport Mods, but has been stymied by the domination of Kyle Olberding and Bryan LaRiviere thus far this year. On this night, LaRiviere was absent and Olberding was unable to get to the front, which left Crowell in a heated battle with Aaron Hilderman and Kurtis Pihl of Lindsborg. Crowell eventually prevailed in this battle over Pihl, with Pihl hanging on for the second place spot. The charge of the night was Aaron Hilderman’s run from 16th to a fine third place finish, while Dusty Leonard finished fourth and Max Harder ended up fifth.

Adam Armstrong is beginning to establish a strong grip on the winner’s circle in BuyRaceParts.com IMCA Hobby Stock action, and he continued to cement that grip with a strong win Saturday night. The Nebraska driver was able to outrun second place Jacob Crowell, with Dominic Thyfault third, Mallory Walters fourth, and Patrick Doherty fifth.

Scott Spellmeier also repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Sport Compact division. Wade Heller finished second, Ronda Mewes third, Kaylee Diekman fourth, and Lindsay Labonte fifth.

The Xtreme Motor Sports Clash on the Hill hosts the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series Saturday Night, June 16. Gates open at 5:00 PM, driver’s meeting at 6:30, hotlaps and races to follow. Adult GeneralAdmission is $15.00, kids 12 and under are free. Coolers are allowed(Canned beer only – no glass bottles) for a $10 charge. Pit passes are $30.00.

GRABO EDGES ; EDGES... ;

Are you kidding me? If this race went one more lap; Jordan would have started lapping "top ten finishers."
He's in his own "time zone." What an amazing driver.

Congratulations Mr Grabowski on your "Edges..."

I chuckled when I read that too. I think you have to report it with some excitement even if it is a stretch, LOL

Don't be modest Tom,.... you were on his rear bumper!!! :D

Okay, on the starts maybe,...

For sure Gabo has his stuff dialed in. Then again, he is the reigning IMCA champ so it goes without saying I guess.

Race on.

8-)

It has been my observation that who ever is writing the articles I'm pretty sure isn't even present at the track week to week. I've noticed this for a while.
