After a brief shower around 6:00 and a hour or so of track work to get the track race ready the 2nd annual USRA Nationals got under way Thursday night at Lakeside Speedway with 154 race cars reporting in for the night.

With the race program running late, last checkered fell about 12:15 a.m., the racing was top notch as you would expect for this race as almost all tracks have stop racing for the year and this is the last points race for the USRA Regulars, points championships are still on the line.

With a two night points total deciding the start of the mains on Saturday tonights winners are on top for now but things could change after Friday's qualifying.
You know the deal, todays hero tomorrow zero. They will redo the whole program again tonight and that will tell who starts where Saturday.

I talked with Dustin Boney of Prime Racing before the races to get his views on the track, event, and maybe some hints about how, where, and when to run your race car. Enjoy.
