Lucas Cattle Company ULMA Drivers Head to CMS for the 2015 Season Lid Lifter!

Season number nine begins this weekend for ULMA drivers when the quest for the 2015 ULMA Championship begins at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg, Missouri. The event marks the first points-earning race of the new season.

This weekend’s race will be the 92nd ULMA-sanctioned event at the speedway. In last year’s six events at the track, three winners emerged. The list included defending ULMA Champion Jon Binning from Warrensburg, who posted three victories, Jason Bodenhamer who claimed a pair of wins, and 2014 championship runner-up Dwight Niehoff of Neosho, Missouri, who raced his way to CMS victory lane on one occasion. Binning is a two-time CMS Late Model track champion.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. followed grandstand admissions beginning at 5. Driver pill draw closes at 6:15, drivers meeting begins at 6:30, hot laps at 7, and racing at 7:30. All pit passes are $30. General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for military w/I.D. and Senior Citizens 65 years and older, $5 for kids ages 6 to 12, and for children five and under, admission is free. Since first beginning in 2007, ULMA has sanctioned 386 races and most importantly has played a vital role in keeping weekly Late Model racing in the headlines throughout its geographical reach. Over 250 drivers have competed under the ULMA banner over the past eight years with Brett Rollert, Jason Bodenhamer, Kevin Kaiser, Rylan Long, Vance Wilson, Jason Russell, and Jon Binning claiming ULMA championships. Russell is the only two-time champion of the association.

Over 50 events occupy the 2015 ULMA race schedule at participating tracks, which includes Lucas Oil Speedway, Callaway Raceway, and Randolph County Raceway. In addition, six events are planned at Central Missouri Speedway with one event dotting the schedule at Double XX Speedway at press time.

For the third straight year Hoosier Tire Midwest and ULMA are partnering for the benefit of the company and ULMA drivers. Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri was originally going to host the first race of the season but continued wet weather in the area forced officials to cancel Friday’s race program. The first points-earning event at the raceway will now fall on Friday, April 17. The speedway is located in Fulton, Missouri. Racing at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri for ULMA drivers begins on Saturday, May 2in what will be one of the biggest events of the year as ULMA drivers compete on the same night as the exciting United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). For more info, visit

Defending champion Jon Binning leads a stellar group of drivers who have already completed their annual membership license. Drivers are encouraged to complete their membership forms prior to taking their first green flag of the season.
