Mayetta, KS – After 6 straight rain outs at Thunder Hill Speedway everyone was ready to get back to racing action on Saturday night.

A total of 117 cars checked in to battle it out for the Belleville Motor Sports Clash on the Hill.

In the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified Feature event it was a familiar face showing up in victory lane.

After finishing runner-up on opening night, Jordan Grabouski, felt that he let one slip away. His goal wasn’t to let that happen again. The night started off well with a win in his heat race. As IMCA has a particular way to lineup the features, Grabouski still had to start inside the fourth row.

As the green flag waved Grabo got off to a strong start and by lap number 2 he worked his way passed the top 8 and had taken over the lead. It would be vintage Grabouski from that point on. He put his Modified at the front of the field and would not give up the top spot taking his 1st win of 2015.

Steven Bowers Jr., the winner from opening night, moved from 10th to 2nd. Unfortunately Bowers couldn’t muster up enough energy to make a solid charge at Grabouski. Tom Charles had a strong run finishing 3rd after starting 9th in the main event, 4th went to Kyle Olberding who put up a strong fight all night long and rounding out the top 5 was Richard Spriggs.

A whopping total of 34 Bad Boyz Bail Bonds IMCA Northern Sport Mods checked in on Saturday night.

Last year’s track champ, Jeremy Pittsenbarger, jumped out to the early lead. Pittsenbarger looked to be regaining the form that led him to a title, unfortunately for him Tyler Frye also has regained his championship form.

Frye started in the 11th position and on an early yellow took the lead away from Pittsenbarger. Frye would bury his Sport Mod deeper into the corners and picked up the throttle just a bit sooner from everyone else. It allowed him to run away from the competition. The win was his 2nd straight at Thunder Hill Speedway.

Strong battles raged all over the speedway from 2nd on back.

Pittsenbarger would fall back to 3rd and then raced his way back up a 2nd place finish, in his first night out Chad Shaw drove from 12th to finish 3rd on the night, 4th went to Rodger Peck who turned in another top 5 and Bryan Rigsby took home the 5th spot.

Fans have grown to love the exciting action in the Heinen Repair Service IMCA Stock Car class. Each and every week there is so much action packed in to every feature it’s amazing.

Kyle Stallbaumer and Rich Boyden brought the field to the green flag and once the green flag waved it resembled a jail break!

Cars jockeyed for position. Dominic Thyfault, Matt Haid, Marvin Griffith Jr., Stallbaumer, Kyle Vanover and Brandon Conkwright all diced it up right from the start.

Marvin Griffith looked to gain the upper hand, but contact and mechanical problems would take him and Conkwright out of the feature.

Thyfault and Vanover put on a good show for the top spot where Vanover would win the battle.

At the front of the pack Vanover would be unstoppable as he sped away to his 1st win of the 2015 race season.

Haid would finish 2nd on the night, Thyfault had his best finish of the season in 3rd, 4th went to Kyle Stallbaumer and rounding out the top 5 was Greg Deters who started 11th.

The first feature of the night packed a lot of excitement and set the tone for the rest of the event.

The Midwest Vending IMCA Hobby Stock main event saw Tyler Hinrichs, a feature winner from 2014, gain his 1st win of the season.

Dalton and Nicholas Ronnebaum came off of two heat race wins to jump out in front of the main event. Nicholas would take the top spot as Dalton fell back. A few yellows would hinder the progress of the main event, but Hinrichs was still on a march to the front.

As Hinrichs took the lead, several spots behind him were shooting it out for supremacy.

Nicholas Ronnebaum would hold on to the 2nd spot, 3rd went to Tyler Garst who had a strong run, Dalton Ronnebaum would fall back and finish 4th after starting on the pole and Pete Beaumount finished 5th after a melee ensued with the opening night winner, Brian Stich.

Next Saturday night, June 27th the best IMCA Racing in the Midwest continues. Make plans on coming out and having some fun and if you have a friend that has never been to the races, bring the with you. There is nothing like bringing a new fan to the track.
