After a very moving salute to all the fallen from 9/11/2001 as all drivers circled the track we were ready for the gladiators to enter the cage. E-Modified would roar into action with great side by side racing action to the checkers. Billy Spilman #63 would charge to the lead and not look back as he would pick up feature number two on the year in the E-Modified Division. Spilman was challenged every lap by point leader and heat race winner Chris Dishong #41 who would come up a little short and place second. Third place was in question until the checkers fell with Paul Lanfermann II #16g claiming the spot moving Kyle Henning #1 to place fourth. Corey Myers #15 would round out the nights top five.

Hobby Stock would not disappoint as heat race winner Joshua Munsen #19 would work his way through traffic and add to his point lead winning the nights feature event. Lane Chew #37 was the big mover and shaker of the race coming from back to the front to place second as Wayne Brooke #18 would capture third. One time leaders’ #20t of Rick Thompson and heat race winner Lonnie Myers #62 would battle to the line with Thompson fourth and Myers fifth.

As we have come to expect at Atchison County Raceway the Street Stock would race side by side and wheel to wheel from start to finish of their feature. Heat race winner Marvin Griffith Jr #75m and Alvie Christofferson #22a would put on a spectacle of driving skill as they would go side by side from start of the race to the end with Griffith edging Christofferson for the win. The two would swap the lead many times to the checkers as Christofferson was a close second. Gerald Wahwahsuck #11w would end the night a solid third with Anthony Robertson #82m fourth. Current point leader Brandon Crockett #98 would again notch an impressive fifth place showing. Street stock was deemed Best in Show on this night of racing action and the fourth place finishing position drawn with Anthony Robertson collecting the extra cash.

B-modified would charge to the tack and see a new winner on the night as Kelly Kneisler #0k would stand tall in victory lane. Kneisler would lead every lap challenged by second place finisher and heat race winner Curtis Dreasher #C4 and Cody Brill #96 who would end the night third. Tyson Lanfermann #47 would recover from an early race miscue and race his way back to fourth with Aaron Myers #14 fifth.

Kids Mod would see Cole Wayman #18 pick up the Team Christofferson winner’s trophy in victory lane on the night of racing.

The always exciting Sport Compact were next to try and tame the cage as heat race winner John Willard #1/2cr would come from back to front after an early race mishap to claim the win. Point leader James Lemke #17 would march to the front and challenge Willard but be forced to settle for second. Josh Conrad and Barry Luthi would go back and forth until Conrad’s #08 would take third and Luthi’s #66b would come home fourth. Will Guthrie #78 would finish a solid fifth as other heat race winner Dusty Baker would develop problems and force him from contention.

Let the Cageman Series roll into the cage for their Flagpole competition! Racing was hot and heavy throughout the Flagpole race as no one could break away from the pack and take a clear advantage. Pete Koch #4 looked like the car to beat until contact with he and third place finisher Brad Simpson #30 would turn the lead over to Cameron Seager #62. Seager and Koch would battle tooth and nail until #06 of Brandon Leach would roll his pickup truck rounding the flagpole and bring pout the red flag. Leach and passenger both emerged unhurt from the wreckage and the race would continue. As the laps wound down Seager would pull away and on to victory capturing his third win on the 2015 racing season. One time leader Koch would finish second, Simpson third and Leach fourth.

Intermission action would see Paul Lanfermann Sr hold off Son, Paul Lanfermann II and Grandson, Tyson Lanfermann to get the win in the first ever Lanferdash. Special thanks to this family for putting on a great show. Atchison County Raceway would like to thank Jeremy Larabee and Team Turtle for all the headbands and goodies for the kids. Congratulations to Mackenzie Thompson and Travis Habegger on winning the shirts donated by Jeremy Larabee and Family.

Atchison County Raceway would like to thank all the drivers and fans for another great night of racing action as we will see everyone next Friday Night! “Don’t be Afraid of the Cage”
