sucp_heartland_park_topeka_logo-300x225Whether you have a nostalgic muscle car, a street performance machine, or a daily driver work vehicle, everyone will have a chance to race their own car down the record setting quarter-mile drag strip at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas. The 2016 Test & Tune Series will take place from April through October, sponsored by Prairie Band Casino & Resort.

Heartland Park, the multi-use motorsports facility located off I-70 and Topeka Boulevard, gained new ownership in 2016, and has been putting its schedule together for the full season which includes opening with the Test & Tune Series sponsored by Prairie Band Casino & Resort on Sunday, April 3. As the weather warms up, the Test & Tune Series will become a weekly Friday night fixture at the track.

Fans and participants will receive discounts and incentives from Prairie Band Casino & Resort when attending a Test & Tune event at Heartland Park, including “Prairie Cash” which essentially gives players free money for table games or slot machines to use in the casino just 15 minutes north of Topeka. Heartland Park General Manager, Todd Stephens, thinks the Test & Tune series at the track will be great for participants and area businesses like the casino. “2016 is going to be a fun season at Heartland Park. Racers and fans will have a lot of opportunity to participate and watch great events, and thanks to sponsors like Prairie Band Casino & Resort, they will have a fun place to go after they leave the track.” For out of town racers and fans with motorhomes, Stephens noted “When attending a multiple-day race weekend like the NHRA national or divisional races, Prairie Band Casino & Resort has an excellent RV Park on their property with full amenities including power, cable TV hook-ups, all within walking distance of the casino’s entertainment, restaurants and gaming area.”

The Friday night Test & Tune series sponsored by Prairie Band Casino & Resort will compliment full weekend activities at Heartland Park in 2016, including an NHRA sanctioned bracket racing series on Saturday nights, and IMCA sanctioned racing at the dirt track on Sundays. These series along with feature attractions ranging from the BattleFrog obstacle course event in late April, to the NHRA Kansas Nationals in May, NHRA Divisional race in July, Battle of the Brands (Super Chevy Show, Fun Ford, Mega Mopar) in October, the NHRA Division 5 Bracket Finals, and road course activities will see Heartland Park host more than 75 events during the 2016 season.
