Obituary For Grant Junghans

GrantGrant Junghans, age 27, died at his home in Manhattan, Kansas on March 12, 2016 after a courageous six year battle with a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer.

He was born on November 17, 1988 in Junction City, Kansas the son of Gregory and Patricia (Woody) Junghans. He was in the graduating class of 2007 at Manhattan High School. He started out working at Belleville Motor Sports in Belleville, Kansas and then with the family owned businesses of cattle ranching and Shop Quik Stores.

Hobbies included racing, racing and racing.

Preceded in death by his grandfather Edwin E. Junghans and grandmother Trudy Neal.

Survivors include his parents: Greg and Pat of Manhattan; brother: Chase of Manhattan; grandmother Genevieve Junghans of Junction City; Aunt Jane Liberator and her husband Matthew of Overland Park, KS and their daughter Jaclyn. Also surviving is his special friend Amanda Gilmer and her son Derrick of Manhattan and many other family members along with countless friends across the country.

Private Services will be held for immediate family.

A Tribute and Celebration of Life will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Manhattan, Kansas on Monday March 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Grant Junghans Memorial Fund in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
