Nearly three weeks removed from the two-day season opener, highlighted by the $10,000 to win “Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout” won by Marion, Arkansas hot-shoe Derek Hagar, the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division will once again be joined by the gomuddy.com National Sprint League as both series make a return visit to 81 Speedway in Park City this coming Saturday night (April 16).
$2000 will go to the winner of the NCRA/NSL 360-ci sprint car feature finale and also on the race card will be the season opener for the NCRA modified division as they open their 18th consecutive year.
This second event of the season should give a clear indication on who will be adding their name to the list of drivers looking to unseat six-time and defending tour champion C.J. Johnson. We know the regular cast of drivers Jeremy Campbell, Jeff Stasa, Jon Freeman, Luke Cranston, Jake Greider and J.D. Johnson will all once again look to keep C.J. from collecting that fifth consecutive championship.
Yet there are still some unknowns as to who else will look to itch their names in the NCRA championship record books.
Pit gates open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand general admission tickets are just $15 for this event. 81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th street in Park City. For more race information contact the speedway office (316) 755-1781 and get daily updates by accessing their official facebook page: Race 81 Speedway.
