Round two of Budweiser Weekly Championship Series set for Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway

lucaslittleWheatland, Missouri (April 19, 2016) – Round two of the Lucas Oil Speedway’s Budweiser Weekly Championship Series resumes on Saturday with the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods the feature division.

Presented by KLOZ-Mix 92.7, it’s the first Super Saver Special of the season with fans arriving before 6:30 p.m. receiving four admissions, four hot dogs and four 20-ounce Coca-Cola products for $30.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. Classes in action include the ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, the Carson’s Corner Napa Street Stocks, and the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods.

The 25-lap B-Mod feature will pay $500 to win. If it’s anything like last week’s B-Mod feature, fans will be on their feet throughout. Chris Clancy of Excelsior Springs made a low-side pass of Lebanon’s Kris Jackson coming out of the final corner to win the B-Mod feature by inches at the finish line with J.C. Morton on their bumpers for third.

B-Mod class always puts on a tremendous show with last week’s race as good as you’ll see,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. “We look forward to more this week with those guys the featured class.”

Other feature winners last Saturday were Bolivar’s Jeff Cutshaw (USRA Mods), Stoutland’s Derek Brown (Street Stocks) and Todd McCoin of Barnett (Late Models).

Justin Russell of Henley charged from a 24th starting position to finish sixth in the Late Model feature. That earned the defending track champ “Hard Charger” awards of $100 from Keyser Manufacturing Products, which gives the Hard Charger Award to the ULMA Late Models each week and $100 from Out-Pace Racing Products, which awards the Hard Charger to the featured class each week.

A total of 104 cars checked into the pits for last week’s program, including 38 in the deep B-Mod division. The program included a tribute to 2014 Late Model track champion Jake Williams, who lost his life last December.

As a final racing tribute, Williams’ widow, Laura Williams, is donating a $100 bonus for the next five weeks to the Late Model driver finishing in the same position that her husband did in corresponding races two years ago.
