Lakeside Speedway Fans, Racers & Workers Coming Together For A Good Cause!

lakeside april 15 2016 342 Kansas City, KS – Every now and then racers, fans, promoters and workers get mad when the weather doesn’t cooperate. It’s a fact of life you can’t do anything about it.

It’s upsetting that we have to wait an extra week to go racing again, but there are always worse things in the world. Noah Wilson can testify to this thought.

Young Noah was diagnosed with cancer at 6 years old. How could this happen? Sometimes the world doesnt’ seem fair. This incredibly brave six year old boy endured countless tests, procedures, surgeries, chemo treatments and much more-yet managed to do so without ever losing his sense of joy.

Kind of makes missing one week of racing not that big of a deal.

Friday night at Lakeside Speedway it will be Noah’s Night At The Races.

Before Noah passed away he was able to turn his plight into a positive as he started Noah’s Bandage Project making a huge difference in the world.

Noah’s Bandage project has 2 goals: 1. To help provide cool and fun bandages to kids that needs them 2. To help raise funds for Pediatric Cancer research More info: www.noahsbandageproject.com.

There will be a lot of activity on and off the track Friday night at Lakeside Speedway. Spencer Racing and Lakeside Speedway have joined forces to help promote and bring awareness to Noah’s mission. Each person that brings children’s colorful band- aids a raffle ticket per box for chances to win amazing gift baskets, gift cards and race shirts from many drivers. We will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Diamond Necklace valued at over a $1000.00 and a signed Eric Hosmer baseball. The tickets for these 2 items will be $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00, we will also be selling Noah’s Night at the Races T-shirts. At intermission we will pass the helmets and at the end of the B-mod feature we will draw for the necklace and baseball winner and present Noah’s Bandage Project with a check for the night’s proceeds.

It was just 2 weeks ago when four drivers were standing tall in victory lane.

In the USRA Modified feature it was the little guy, Mark Schafman, getting his first win of the 2016 season. Brett Heeter, last year’s champ, finally logged a win in the USRA Stock Car feature. Chad Clancy was finally denied a win in the USRA B-Mod division as J.C. Morton stopped in from Southern Missouri to take down the win. In the Grand National class it was Tim Shields looking like his old self as he dominated on his way to win #1. A former Lakeside Speedway champ, Marshall Jewett, became the second different winner in the Factory Stock division.

Look for more action this week as the track prep crews get a hand on the racing surface, the drivers keep tinkering and fine-tuning their rides and the thought of the unknown will power each and every race night from here on out.

Also this Friday, NAPA Auto on State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan., sponsoring a Hard Charger gift pack valued at $350 for USRA Modifieds and USRA Stock Cars. They are also sponsoring a Hard Luck gift pack valued at $100 for the same two classes. Fans can stop by the NAPA table and register to win a Car Care Bucket valued at $85.
