Kicking off another great night of racing action inside the cage was the John Brown Construction Kids Mods. Using heat race win momentum Cade Richards #1R would charge to the front and cruise to his first victory of the 2016 racing season. Challenging Richards for the win was Destyn Whitney #58 who would finish a solid second of the night. One time leader Jace Whitt #26J would recover from an early race mishap to place third.

Next to charge to the track for the always entertaining Hobby Stock using poise and patience Lonnie Myers #62 would pick up his first career feature win. Myers would be challenged in the later stages of the race by big mover and shaker Kyle Roland #5 who would work his way from the back of the pack to the front to place second. Heat race winner Tobin Bartlett #28 would end the night third with the 7SI of Josiah Birkinsha ending the night in fourth. Wayne Brooke #18 was among the front runners the entire feature finishing fifth. Other heat race winner was Chris Kiehl #28K who developed mechanical problems forcing him from the feature.

E-Modified witnessed magic in the air as Joshua Munsen would work his way through the pack and put his 19X in victory lane. Munsen would be challenged by second place finisher Matthew Lance #12X and third place finisher Kit Bailey #77 but would not be denied on this night. Matt Dorssom #3D would challenge the leaders and be forced to settle for fourth with early leader Cory Myers #15 fading late to round out the nights top five. Heat race winners were Kyle Henning #1 and the #41 of Chris Dishong.

Entering the cage next was a locked and loaded field of IMCA Stock Cars. Heat race winner Marvin Griffith Jr #75M jumped to the early lead and appeared to be the car to beat until contact with lap traffic would send him to the rear of the field. Greg Keuhn #6X would take over the lead until other heat race winner Brad Whitney #X9 would take over the point. Keuhn would charge back by Whitney as Alvie Christofferson #22A would make his move to the front. Christofferson and Keuhn would swap the lead many times in the closing lap with Christofferson picking up the feature win. Keuhn would finish a close second with Josh Steele #94J a solid third. Week one winner Jim Powell Jr. #20P was the big mover of the race placing fourth with Griffith recovering to finish fifth.

IMCA Modified would roar to the track with three and four wide racing the entire feature. When the green flag flew Rodney Schweizer #74 would take the early lead and control the first few circuits of the feature. Schweizer would develop mechanical problems forcing and early end to his night of competition. Tyson Lanfermann #47X would take over the top spot until Clay Hale #22H would use the high line to perfection taking over the lead. Hale would lead until Jeremy Chambers #17 would charge through the pack and lead the last three laps and claim the win. Clay Hale in a photo finish would place second with Truman Asher #73 third. One time leader Lanfermann would end the night fourth with week one winner Steven Bowers Jr. #77 rounding out the nights top five. Heat race winners were #33 of Nicholas Carpenter and #81 of Tom Charles.

Sport Compact would race caution free and win the best of show on this night of racing action. Josh Conrad #08 would pass all challengers and cruise to his first victory of the 2016 racing season. William Hensley #06 would hold off the big mover of the race heat race winner John Willard # 1/2CR to finish second leaving Willard to third. Heat race winner David Miller III #55 would finish fourth with James Lemke #17 finishing fifth.

Cageman Series would end the night of great racing action with a battle of the Brad’s in the always entertaining flag pole race. To set the line up for the flag pole race the two Brad’s would race forward and backwards with Brad Spilman #63 winning the heat and Brad Simpson #30 seeing the checkers first and winning the feature leaving Spilman to place second.

Atchison County Raceway would like to thank all the drivers and fans for an entertaining night of great racing action. Intermission would see kid’s foot races and 2015 Champions names added to the Wall of Champions. We invite everyone back next week for great racing action at Atchison County Raceway.
