Driver to Watch This Week: Jeremy Chambers #17, Parsons, KS.

Jeremy Chambers was one of the first drivers to commit to racing at Heartland Park Topeka in the 2016 season. He is off to a good start but knowing Chambers he is a racer and racers always want to do better. So far each week Chambers is improving and this is his 1st season running in the IMCA ranks, there will be a learning curve. Last week he was up in the front of the back battling for the to spot. Keep an eye on him this week, he could be back again.

Bryan Rigsby battled with Jim Powell Jr. and it looked as if Rigsby was going to take the win. Mechanical problems hit Rigsby on the white flag lap. Dominic Thyfault was on the move and pounced on the win getting his 1st of the season. So far this season there hasn’t been a repeat winner in the division.

Driver to Watch This Week: Dominic Thyfault #27, Wakarusa, KS

Many people are forgetting that Dominic Thyfault is rapidly becoming a hot shoe in the IMCA Stock Car ranks. After racing in the Hobby Stocks Thyfault moved into the Stock Cars full time last year. He would end up winning a championship in his Rookie Season! This year he is out to show everyone it wasn’t a fluke. Last week’s win should let people know that. Don’t be surprised if he is running up from again.

jersey-mikes-subsIMCA Northern Sport Mods – You know the dinner table at the Charles house this year for holidays will be a lot of fun. Father, Danny, and son, Austin, will have a chance to relieve a ton of memories that they are making racing against each other this season at Heartland Park Topeka. Last week the two drivers dueled it out with Dan getting his 1st IMCA N. Sport Mod victory. It ended up being close at the end as Dan had to hold back a hard charging Dustin Thulin for the win. Like the Stock Cars there have been no repeat winners in the Jersey Mike’s IMCA Northern Sport Mods.

Driver To Watch This Week: Daniel Gottschalk #3D, Ellis, KS

Last week was Gottschalk’s first attempt racing at Heartland Park. After surviving the Big One on the opening lap Gottschalk settled in and started to move his way forward. Always a contender in the IMCA N. Sport Mod Gottschalk had to do some work on his hot rod to get it ready for Sunday night after a Saturday night racing altercation. It looked like he got everything where it needed to be as he would finish 5th in the main. If he returns this week look for him to better last week’s finish.

jersey-mikes-subsIMCA Hobby Stock – Byron Glotzbach has won some races at Heartland Park Topeka in the past and this past Sunday night he showed everyone that he still has it. Glotzbach got to the front and ran away with the win. His 1st on the season and just like the Stock Cars and Sport Mods there has been a different winner each week in the Jersey Mike’s Subs IMCA Hobby Stock division.

Driver To Watch This Week: Jaylen Wettengel #91J, Topeka, KS

This youngster is full of excitement. We have watched this kid progress from the quarter midget ranks on up to the Hobby Stocks and then the Sport Mods. It’s been fun to watch his progression and now he is competing week after week for a spot in the top half of the feature. Last week he moved up 8 spots in the feature and that stat shows that he can drive around the competition. Is this the week he drives by all of them?
