Mayetta, KS – Fans of Thunder Hill Speedway are going to feel spoiled if things keep going the way they are. Each week they are treated to great weekly racing and this week they are getting another Big Special for the 2nd straight week during the Big Time Bail Bonds Clash on the Hill!

This Saturday night, June 18th, is Feldkamp’s Furniture Night at the Races!

It’s going to be a huge night of racing as the NCRA/Nesmith Late Models will be back for a return visit, the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modifieds will be battling for a $1,000 to win top prize, $500 to win will await the victors in the Bud’s Auto Service IMCA Stock Cars & JAG Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mods and regular pay for the Casey’s General Store IMCA Hobby Stocks.

With the Modifieds paying $1,000 to win, the winner will be qualified for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at the IMCA Super Nationals coming up in September.

What Happened Last Race Out at the Big Time Bail Bonds Clash on The Hill…
The fireworks capped off the night last Saturday night in the Modified main event. Jordan Grabouski got by Steven Bowers Jr. late to take home the win. It was Grabouski’s 4th win in a row. Last year’s track champ in the Stock Cars, Dominic Thyfault, raced his way to a win last Saturday night. Luke Stallbaumer went wire to wire in winning the N. Sport Mod Feature. It was a dominating performance for Nicholas Ronnebaum as he won the Hobby Stock main event. Thanks to Big Time Bail Bonds last week’s winners all pocketed extra money on the night.

Setting the Table For This Week!

BSB Manufacturing Modified Notes…
4 is now the magic number for Jordan Grabouski. That’s how many wins he has already this season.
21 was the number of competitors that signed in to race last Saturday night.
The Hard Charger in the feature last week was Grabouski who started 10th and went on to win!
Darron Fuqua is trying to keep pace with the points leader, Grabouski, last week’s 5th place finish keeps him in the hunt.
The points battle is just getting underway, but fans will want to play close attention there are a number of drivers that are in the hunt and with the way things can go from one extreme to the next, it’s anyone’s championship to win.

Modified Driver To Watch This Week…. Kyle Olberding #75, Seneca, KS.

Olberding is a driver that can jump up and get a win at any moment. The IMCA Modified division is probably the most competitive division in the US. This season Olberding has had his ups and downs. Last week was a good run for Olberding as he finished 6th in the A main. Olberding is very familiar with the Thunder Hill Speedway surface. He grew up there, he began his racing career there, he won a championship (N. Sport Mod) and he has seen some success in the Modified class there. Last week’s finish might be an indicator that Olberding is ready to keep moving forward. Keep an eye on him and see if this is his week!

Buds Auto Service IMCA Stock Car Notes…
24 was the number of racers that battled it out in this division last week.
As Dominic Thyfault took the checkered flag last week he became the 4th different feature winner in 5 races.
24 Stock Cars checked in to battle it out last Saturday night.
Chuck Warman was the Hard Charger last week as he went from 22nd to 12th in the feature.
Fans don’t want to miss a minute of the action with this class. Last week they had 4 and 5 wide racing all across the speedway and only a few yellows slowed the progress of the A main.
Blake Peeler celebrated a good return to Thunder Hill Speedway after being absent for a few races. Peeler started 11th and finished inside the top 5 in 4th!

Stock Car Driver to Watch This Week…. Dominic Thyfault #27, Wakarusa, KS.

We are going out on a limb picking the winner from the previous week at Thunder Hill Speedway. Dominic Thyfault has been running strong all year long in 2016. The only problem he was suffering from is the dreaded sophomore slump. It was a year ago, in his Rookie season, that Thyfault won the points championship at Thunder Hill. This season untimely events around him on the track and a hurt motor have hindered his chances at repeating in 2016. Last weeks run proves he is capable of running up front. He is a smooth driver and we think that the win last week might be the shot in the arm this driver needs to get going. Look for him to possibly be in victory lane this weekend!

JAG Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mod Notes…
So far this season this has been the most competitive class at Thunder Hill Speedway. There have been 5 features run so far this year and there has been 5 different winners! That’s right nobody has been able to repeat as of yet.
Luke Stallbaumer picked the right night to shake off all the gremlins that have been holding his team back this season. Stallbaumer had an impressive run leading wire to wire for the $350.00 top prize last week.
Jeremy Pittsenbarger started slow last week after winning the previous week. Pittsenbarger had to run the B Feature and then started 20th in the feature and put on a super drive as he finished 4th!
Another driver that put on a great show was Kyle Stallbaumer. Like Pittsenbarger, Stallbaumer made it in through the B and started 22nd and at the end of the night he was sitting in 6th! Passing 16 puts him at Pittsenbarger as last week’s Hard Chargers.
Last week there was almost a photo finish for 2nd as Austin Charles nudged out Shawn Harker by a bumper for the runner-up spot.

Northern Sport Mod Driver To Watch This Week…. Shawn Harker #40, Nebraska City, NE.

Harker has been kind of quiet since winning on opening night. I guess if we call quiet just not getting back into victory lane. Harker is currently 3rd in the point standings. He has been on some great runs and just come up short. He is one of the drivers that have had a shot at a repeat win but just haven’t gotten it done. Harker is fast and the more and more time he spends on the track he will get more comfortable with his surroundings at Thunder Hill Speedway. Watch him this week and see if he isn’t the 1st repeat winner.

Casey’s General Store IMCA Hobby Stock Notes…
Nicholas Ronnebaum raced his way to win #2 on the season last week and it made him the 2nd driver to be able to win multiple features this season. Ronnebaum and Ryan Sutter are the only 2 drivers in the class to have more than 1 win.
Out of 5 features raced this season there have been 3 different winners in the Hobby Stocks.
The Hard Charger last week was Chris Lierz. Lierz blasted from 16th to 6th in the feature.
16 was the magic number of racers that checked in to battle it out last Saturday night.
It might be a safe prediction that this points race might be decided on the final night just like last season. The top 5 drivers are separated by less than 25 markers.

Jason Cleveland #2. Larry Mzhickteno

Jason Cleveland #2. Larry Mzhickteno

Hobby Stock Driver To Watch This Week….Jason Cleveland #2, Delphos, KS.

Jason Cleveland landed at Thunder Hill Speedway about a month ago and he has been a welcome addition. Fans have appreciated the show he puts on everyone week and he is fast. Learning Thunder Hill Speedway takes a little bit of time. Especially when you are in a car that doesn’t pack a ton of horse power. Jason is figuring it out week by week. Last week he brought home a 5th place finish and we think this might be his week to move up in farther in the lineup. Check out the #2 Team and see if they aren’t in victory lane after the night is over with.
