Kansas City, KS – The 2016 Race Season rolls on at Lakeside Speedway this Friday night June 17th, 2016.

This Friday night’s special will be C.A.R.B. Night at the Races along with an appearance by the ULMA Late Models. Central Auto Racing Booster members will be allowed in FREE in the grandstands Friday night! Then they will get the added bonus of the ULMA Late Models, USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B Mods, Grand Nationals and Factory Stocks.

It was just a week ago in the USRA Modified division when Kerry Davis pulled in another victory for 2016. Davis, the current points leader, rolled to an impressive win and it allowed him to build on his current points lead. Several drivers had solid runs, but right now Davis, the reigning points champ, is still the man to beat in the Modifieds at Lakeside Speedway.

The USRA Stock Car Feature from last Friday night had everything that a fan could ask for. Trevor Hunt kept his plan in tact for the entire race and it paid off big time as he caught the leader, Brett Heeter, on the white flag lap. Hunt made his move and it drove him to his 2nd win of the season. Heeter still maintains the points lead in the division, but it’s sure to be a close one as Kevin Anderson is just 7 points back.

For the past 2 races Steven Clancy has dominated the USRA B Mods. Clancy stormed to his 2nd straight win last Friday night. The Clancy’s are keeping it in the family as brother, Chad, still leads the point standings. This class provides a lot of excitement each and every week. The popularity of this class also continues to grow on a weekly basis. More than 50 different drivers have logged laps this season at Lakeside.

Nick Newton currently is the points leader in the Grand National division. This class has made a strong rivalry between Newton and Tim Shields, last years champ. This season he has been going back and forth with Shields and last week was Shields turn to take the top honors. Shields blasted to a big win last week that resembled his runs from a year ago.

Jason Ryun ran away with a another victory in the Factory Stock class a week ago. So far this season, Ryun has been head and shoulders above the competition. He has a 77 point lead on the competition and it doesn’t look like he is going to let up anytime soon. Marshall Jewett, Oliver Harris, Kevin Pike and the rest of the competition will be getting better weekly and don’t count out anyone that is building a car or returning to Lakeside to join this class.

Don’t miss any of the action this Friday night at Lakeside Speedway.
