Mayetta, KS – Mother Nature won the feature last week as the perpetual rains kept everyone at home last Saturday night.

Thunder Hill Speedway will open their doors this Saturday night July 9, 2016 for the best IMCA Racing on Saturday nights in the Midwest! Saturday night will also be Ladies Night at The Races. All Ladies are in FREE on Saturday night!

The fans will get a double dose of excitement this Saturday night as the Big Time Bail Bonds Clash on the Hill will once again feature the action of the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modifieds, Bud’s Auto Service IMCA Stock Cars, JAG Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mods and the Casey’s General Store IMCA Hobby Stocks.

RECYCLED RACE NOTES!!!

What Happened Last Race Out at the Big Time Bail Bonds Clash on The Hill…
David Conkwright did what no other driver could for the past 5 races, keep Jordan Grabouski out of victory lane. Conkwright scored his 1st win of the season last Saturday night in the IMCA Modified Feature. Matt Haid drove to his 3rd victory of the season at Thunder Hill Speedway in the IMCA Stock Car main event. Dusty Leonard put together his best performance of the 2016 season and raced his way to his 1st victory of the season during the IMCA N. Sport Mod Feature. In the IMCA Hobby Stock Feature it was last year’s champ, Tyler Garst, getting his 1st win of the season. Three our of 4 feature winners last week were all new faces in Pit Pass Liquor Victory Lane.

Setting the Table For This Week!

BSB Manufacturing Modified Notes…
The streak for consecutive feature wins is over at 5. Last week Jordan Grabouski got hung up in an early altercation and wasn’t the same after he had to start in the rear of the field.
Justin Jurgens was the hard charger last week going from 16th to 5th in the feature.
Debuting a crate motor last week was Darron Fuqua. Fuqua started 8th and finished 2nd. Not bad for the first night out.
With the win last week, Conkwright now joins Jordy Nelson and Jordan Grabouski as the only winners this season in the Modified ranks.
Tire samples taken from the June 18th race at Thunder Hill Speedway have come back and everyone was in the clear. So the results are now final from that race.

Modified Driver To Watch This Week…. Troy Baumgartner, Topeka, KS.

Troy Baumgartner doesn’t resemble what an old veteran looks like. Baumgartner has been in the race game for several years now and his experience is starting to pay dividends. Baumgartner jumped into the IMCA Modified waters last year and it’s taken some time to get going. The past 2 weeks have been good to Baumgartner. The last 2 weeks he has posted a 3rd place finish and a 4th place finish. Not too shabby. As Baumgartner continues to figure out his hot rod, look for him to only get faster. This week he might just be #1!

Buds Auto Service IMCA Stock Car Notes…
Matt Haid raced his way to win #3 last week. Not an easy task considering all the competition that exists in this class.
The Hard Charger from last week was James Seymour who started 22nd and finished 10th.
23 Stock Cars checked in to battle it out last week.
There is a deadlock for the points lead this early in the season. Matt Haid and Jim Powell Jr. are tied at the top of the standings.

Stock Car Driver to Watch This Week…. Tim Pruett #46, Atchison, KS.

It was just last week that Tim Pruett put together one of his best finishes of the season. A 3rd place finish is something to celebrate when you are racing against other drivers that are just as talented. Pruett will continue to start at, or near, the front of the feature if he makes it in every week. Last week could just be a sign of things to come, watch this weekend and see if he gets the job done.

JAG Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mod Notes…
Jeremy Pittsenbarger was the hard charger last week after he started 18th and finished 4th. Makes you wonder where he would have finished if he would have started further forward.
In this division, so far, this season 7 features have been run in the Sport Mod division and there have been 7 different winners.
Brian Murphy finished inside the top 5 once again last week. At this rate Murphy might be a factor in the points race.
Austin Charles is seeing his lead shrink in the points for N. Sport Mods. Charles had an off weekend but he still holds down the top spot in the points.
23 Total Sport Mods checked in to wage war last week.

Northern Sport Mod Driver To Watch This Week…. Kyle Stallbaumer, Tecumseh, KS.

In the past Kyle Stallbaumer has been known for racing Stock Cars and Modifieds in the past. This season he is competing in the N. Sport Mod division. Last week he scored a 2nd place finish. It was his 2nd straight week of being inside the top 5. Stallbaumer is quickly getting the hang of driving a Sport Mod. The last 2 races should be an indication that Stallbaumer is going to win and race soon! Keep an eye out and see if it’s this weekend.

Casey’s General Store IMCA Hobby Stock Notes…
Tyler Garst didn’t get a victory until late in the season last year when he won the championship. His win last week comes just before the halfway point of the season.
In last week’s feature every racer in the top 5 started 5th or worse in the A Main.
The youngster, Jaylen Wettengel, was the hard charger last week as he started 13th and finished 6th.
Nicholas Ronnebaum continues to show how strong he is. A couple of week’s ago he was in victory lane and last week it was a runner-up finish. He is quickly chipping away at the points lead of Ryan Sutter.

Hobby Stock Driver To Watch This Week….Ricky Tanner #14, Topeka, KS.

Over the years Ricky Tanner has been a competitor at Thunder Hill Speedway. This year Tanner is giving it a go in the Hobby Stock division. In years past it’s been the Sport Mod or Modified class that Tanner has occupied. It’s been a little of a learning curve for Tanner going from one class of car to the next, but have faith that Tanner will get to the front of the pack. Unfortunately, for Tanner, this season has been filled with problems beyond his control. A lot of things have happened around Tanner that weren’t of his doing. If he can get some luck on his side watch and see if he can take it to the front of the pack.
