(Warrensburg, MO) This Saturday evening the action packed racing resumes on 610 Sports Radio race night featuring USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, B-Mods, Pure Stocks and guest class, ULMA Late Models. The championship point’s rankings are heating up as well with several tight races for the top spots in the weekly CMS divisions.

Last weekend Blue Springs driver, Gunner Martin visited victory lane for a third time this year to continue applying pressure to Fulton driver Kevin Blackburn. Blackburn leads the USRA Modified points by just 26 markers over Martin. Reigning CMS champion, Terry Schultz is third with Brian Johnson and Danny Scrogham rounding out the top five.

In the growing Pure Stock class, veteran Kansas City driver, Darrin Christy gained his second feature win of the year last Saturday with an exciting green to checkers finish. With a solid finish last weekend, Rodger Detherage from Windsor strengthened his points lead over Amanda Akers and Jeremiah Wilson. Larry Norris, who has an early season feature win is fourth as Nick Pickhard completes the top five.

The B-mod division had another repeat winner last Saturday with Cody Frazon from LaMonte coming on strong with his second win of the year. He joins Jacob Ebert from Oak Grove with four feature wins and the current points lead as a multiple-time B-mod winner this year. Keeping the race for championship tight, Troy Carlyle is just 23 markers behind in the second spot, despite some tough racing luck this year. Bobby Russel and Olen Stephens are currently tied for third with Bill Small in the fifth spot.

The Street Stock journey to the championship is one to keep an eye on as current leader Clayton Campbell from Otterville and Brett Wood from Warrensburg battle for the top spot. Both drivers have won several features as Wood claimed the checkers last Saturday night. Campbell is just 28 points ahead of Wood and the way it looks aright now this one could go down to the final night of racing. Jay Prevete, Brain Eckhoff and Brian Ziegler are contenders for the checkers each weekend with several top three finishes. Ziegler has three feature victories to his credit this season.

ULMA Late Models are set to compete as guest class this weekend at CMS for the fourth time this year as the drivers compete for ULMA championship points. Aaron Marrant and Jon Binning have claimed victories so far this season in ULMA appearances at CMS. Please note, mention of driver name does not guarantee race appearance in any class.
