Mayetta, KS – It was a hot night of racing action at Thunder Hill Speedway. It was so hot outside that the staff at Thunder Hill moved the start time of the races back so the fans and racers would be more comfortable. The problem was that the racers make there own heat out on the race track with there awesome performance.

Koby Minnis would lead the 1st lap of the A Main in the Casey’s General Store IMCA Hobby Stock main event Saturday night at Thunder Hill Speedway.

Multiple time feature winner, Nicholas Ronnebaum, would take over the lead and would hang on till the first yellow of the night. On the restart Ronnebaum would take to the top spot with Chris Lierz and Tyler Hinrichs in hot pursuit.

As the top 3 cars came to the white flag something would happen to Ronnebaum’s ride and he would slow on the speedway giving the lead to Lierz. Ronnebaum would keep it going but it took him out of the lead.

Lierz would sprint to his 1st win of his career. At least that’s what it appeared to be. The night was about to become even more hot.

Taking the checkered flag is one thing. After winning a race you have to make it through post race tech inspection. On this night the winner, Lierz, and 2nd place, Hinrichs, were both flagged for infractions and moved to the tail end of the results.

This development handed the win to Ronnebaum! The driver that led and had trouble at the end would get his 4th win of the season.

Minnis celebrated his best finish of the season in 2nd, Tyler Garst finished in 3rd, 4th went to Levi Henery and 5th was Jaylen Wettengel.

For the 2nd time in the last 3 races the JAG Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mods would go without a single yellow flag in their main event.

Bryce Frakes grabbed the top spot from the drop of the green flag, but Luke Stallbaumer was right with him on his back bumper. The two would speed around the speedway nose to tail for several laps and then L. Stallbaumer would make his move. The top 2 cars would go side by side for a couple of laps but L. Stallbaumer, a former feature winner this season, was too tough to hold off he would get by for the lead.

Another Stallbaumer, Kyle, was making his way through the field and trying to get up to his younger brother to battle for the top spot. Kyle, also a feature winner from this season, sliced and diced his way to the front and made a valiant effort to catch Luke but he could not do it as the laps ran out.

Luke Stallbaumer would collect his 2nd feature win of the season at Thunder Hill Speedway.

Kyle Stallbaumer raced his way from 9th to 2nd, Frakes would hold on for 3rd, 4th went to Dusty Leonard and Austin Charles rounded out the top 5.

A 3 car battled developed right off of the start of the Bud’s Auto Service IMCA Stock Car A Main on Saturday night.

Josh Everhart would lead Brandon Conkwright and Matt Haid around the speedway for several laps. Haid and Conkwright would swap the 2nd spot back and forth as they chased Everhart.

A yellow flag would bunch the field up and Haid took advantage of the restart and shot to the lead.

Haid, a multiple time feature winner, took to the lead and started to expand his lead. There would be no catching Haid on this night as he would sprint to the win.

Jim Powell Jr., the hard charger on the night, went from 11th to 2nd in the feature, Dominic Thyfault would finish a strong 3rd, 4th would go to Greg Deters and Everhart, who led early, fell back to finish 5th.

The BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified Feature saw a great battle from 2 great drivers at the start of their feature event.

Tom Charles, a distinguished veteran of IMCA Modified racing, jumped out to the lead in the main event. Going right along with Charles was Jordan Grabouski, one of the hottest drivers over the past 5 to 7 years in IMCA Modified racing.

The two drivers put on a great display of hard racing at the front of the pack. Both drivers would swap the top spot on the speedway. Each giving the other the amount of respect that each one deserves. Neither car would make contact with the other even though they were separated by inches.

Grabouski would fall back from Charles and started searching for a new line. Running off the top of the speedway in the corners, Grabouski used this to provide some extra steam coming down the straightaways. It would help as once again he pulled alongside the leader, Charles.

This time Grabouski would find a way to get by Charles and take over the top spot.

Grabouski would extend the lead on the way to another feature win on the season. The win would also continue to cement his points lead on the season as the 2nd place driver in points, Darron Fuqua, did not compete on Saturday night.

Charles would finish a strong 2nd in the feature, 3rd would be Dylan Sherffick who started in 10th, Steven Bowers Jr. rolled to another top 5 finish in 4th and Troy Baumgartner raced his way to a 5th place finish.

The Big Time Bail Bonds Clash on The Hill continues next Saturday night at Thunder Hill Speedway July 30th as it’s DSJC Night At The Races!
