Kansas City, KS – Lakeside Speedway is set for another great night of racing Friday, August 12th!

A lot of racers and fans are looking forward to next Friday night’s Grant Junghans Memorial, ‘the biggest 1 day purse ever for a Modified dirt race!’ Everyone has to remember that there is still a race this week.

It was just a week ago when Kerry Davis jumped back into victory lane once again in the USRA Modified division, Jeff Elder was a surprise winner in the USRA B Mod Feature, the Grand National Feature saw a different winner for the first time in weeks with Donnie Brown and Jon Sheets won an exciting ULMA Late Model Feature.

This week all the regular weekly classes are back in action at Lakeside Speedway. The USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B Mods, Grand Nationals and Factory Stocks are all ready to rock n roll Friday night.

With the win last week Kerry Davis expanded his points lead in the Modified division over Aaron Marrant and Mark Schafman. As the season heads down the stretch with some consistent finishes Davis could be looking at another Lakeside Speedway Championship.

Next week’s big race might lead to some new faces being at Lakeside Speedway Friday night. Friday night’s race will be a perfect opportunity for some drivers to get a test and tune session before the big $10,002 to win event!

Tim Shields and Nick Newton have the closest points battle going on at Lakeside in 2016. Shields leads Newton in the Grand National division by just 8 markers. This could be a good battle down to the wire.

This season Brett Heeter has been one of the most dominant drivers at Lakeside Speedway but don’t look now, Heeter doesn’t have the points title locked up yet. Trevor Hunt, a rookie in the USRA Stock Car class, is just 21 points behind Heeter at the moment.

On the flip side of that coin Chad Clancy entertains the biggest points lead in any division and that’s the USRA B Mods. Clancy has a 141 point lead over 2nd place Luke Nieman. As long as Clancy doesn’t implode a title could, and should be in the cards.

Jason Ryun doesn’t have as cushy of a points lead as Clancy does, but Ryun does carry a 73 point advantage in the Factory Stock division.

The racing action this season has been awesome. Last lap passes, dominating performances, wild rides and more have been seen on Friday night’s this season. Eight points races still are on the docket so you can expect more exciting action to come your way at Lakeside Speedway.

Make plans today to get to each, and every, remaining race!
