Country and Racin Thrown Together This Saturday At BriggsAuto.Com Speedway

T-Marv will kick things off with a Saturday night concert!

Topeka, KS – Saturday night, July 21, will be a hot not at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway! No, not because of the forecast, because of the awesome mixture of a country concert mixed in with some great dirt track racing.

This week’s Super Saturday Showdown Series race is #14 on the season. It’s also Casey’s General Store Family Fun Night at the races! Casey’s employees will be on hand to give away free gas cards to the racers and the fans. They are also instrumental in bringing you the hottest country acts in the Midwest, Travis Marvin.

Travis Marvin will be on hand to perform a concert for those in attendance from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Fans will get a chance to see the performer known as T-Marv, hailing from Ottawa, KS. He will perform everything from country, rock, blues and a whole lot more. T-Marv is one of the hottest country acts in the Midwest and fans will get to watch him perform for FREE! That’s right just another bonus that the fine folks of Heartland Park Topeka and Casey’s General Store have provided for the great fans of BriggsAuto.Com Speedway.

When Travis is done that’s when the heat gets turned up a little more. Drivers competing in the Casey’s General Store Pure Stocks, White Line CDL Training B Mods, Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stocks and the Washburn Tech Modifieds will get ready to battle it out for class supremacy.

Last week it was a 1st time winner in victory lane after the completion of the White Line CDL Training B Mod A Main. Lucas Isaacs kept the family name going for one more week. Two week’s ago it was his brother Ethan, the points leader, getting his 1st when. Little brother followed suit this weekend holding off a hard charge from Steven Goodman to get the win.

This week look for more of the same in the B Mod division. The class has sent 9 different winners to victory lane in 13 races. Only one driver, Mike Higley, has been able to pull down multiple victories this season. Who is the next new face that will be looking for glory?

The Washburn Tech Modified division is beginning to look a lot like it did last season. Darron Fuqua, last year’s champion, is starting to regain the form he had last season when he reeled off a record 11 wins. Two week’s ago he won a $1,000 in a borrowed car and this week late in the race he reminded everyone that he can still win in his Venom Chassis too.

This season hasn’t been all about Fuqua, 7 other drivers have put themselves in victory lane and that tells us that they competition level is on the rise. The Washburn Tech Modified division is providing some great racing action in 2012.

Superman is beatable! Everyone said that Terry Schmidt was going to walk his way to another win last week. Apparently Zach Henery had enough kryptonite in his pockets to out last Terry Schmidt to the finish. Wait a minute. Terry Schmidt finished 3rd and Matt Field must have been impervious to the kryptonite. The finish last week in the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stock feature should come as no surprise to the competitors in the class. Anyone is beatable on any given night. You have to believe in what you do and the ability of your car.

Watch for this week’s feature to be more exciting than ever. Schmidt will want to regain his status as Henery and the rest of the drivers will be looking for their best performance to date.

It was 5 alive for Randal Schiffelbein Jr. as he took home the top honors in the Casey’s General Store Pure Stock main event. The ‘Cinderella’ season continues for this rookie as he took home the win and maintains the points lead for another week. Several racers stepped it up last week. Lafe Garst had a good run going until mechanical failures took him out. Jesse Shotts continued to show how strong his race team is and Tyler Garst also made an appearance at the front of the field.

Another 19 cars continued to show there support for this class last weekend. Along with great run that Schiffelbein is having, the large car count continues to be two of the hottest topics at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway.

Head out to Heartland Park Topeka for Casey’s General Stores Family Fun Night at the races. Come out early for the Travis Martin concert and then stay for the best dirt track racing in the Midwest at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway.

Spectator gates will open up at 5:00 p.m., hot laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m. and the races go green at 7:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10, kids 12 and under are $5 and Military are Free with an I.D.
