V100 Night Saturday At BriggsAuto.Com Speedway

3 Wide is becoming the norm during features at HPT! Reed Bros. Racing Photos

Topeka, KS – Just when you thought things couldn’t get any hotter! Saturday, July 28, rock radio station V-100 will invade BriggsAuto.Com Speedway to add some fun and mayhem to the Super Saturday Showdown Series.

That’s right this weekend fans will have a chance to see the fine folks from V100 doing a live radio remote, giving fans the chance to drop the green flags for the features, giving away free concert tickets and the Women of V100 will be on hand giving away free calendars, signing autographs and maybe even getting in a picture or two. Don’t forget about the great racing action that will go along with V100 Night!

Great racing? That is a given at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway.

Eight nights of racing are on the docket at the speedway and the everyone is dreaming of standing on top of their respective divisions after the final night.

Darron Fuqua has been a man on a mission in the Washburn Tech Modified class. Last Saturday night he rolled to his 3rd straight feature win.

This season started out with several different Modified drivers stopping off in victory lane. Eight winners have graced victory lane with their presence, but lately it has been the reigning champion spoiling everyone’s fun.

As the stretch run comes down the pike, Fuqua is holding a 144 point lead over the 2nd place competitor, Steven Bowers Jr. Spots 2nd through 9 are separated by a little over 100 points. It looks as if there could be a lot of movement in the points before this season comes to an end.

The question will be if Fuqua will hold on for his 2nd straight championship or will there be a major comeback and new champion for 2012?

In the White Line CDL Training B Mod division the Isaacs brothers are standing tall at the moment.

Older brother, Ethan, is the current points leader. He has led for most of the season in 2012. Over the past 2 races his younger sibling, Lucas, has turned up the heat with 2 straight wins. The wins have vaulted him from 6th to 2nd in the points in just two weeks! Can he continue to chip away at big bro? Or will it be Ethan that shows Lucas a thing or two about points racing?

Watch other drivers in this division as this class has produced the most racers in any one division. The competition level is 2nd to none in this class. Nine different winners have found themselves in victory lane in 2012. Even though Lucas Isaacs has looked strong over the past two weeks, there are several competitors that could turn some heads with some big runs down the stretch. It could even start this Saturday night.

Terry Schmidt has had the run of the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stocks this year. The Nortonville native drove to win #10 on the season last weekend at Heartland Park.

Seasons prior to this one have produced dominating performances at the track, but Schmidt seems to have all of his ducks in a row at this time. Fourteen races into the season and 10 of them have gone to Schmidt. Throw out opening night, since he didn’t race, and he has 10 wins in just 13 races. That’s a winning percentage of 77%. There are pro sports franchises that would like to have that kind of winning percentage.

While Schmidt has had an exceptional year, it can’t go without notice that other drivers in the Factory Stock division have also turned some heads. Zach Henery has 2 wins to his credit this season, Frank Jaynes has been running in the top 5 frequently, James King and Dustin Sievers are two other drivers that come to mind when you are discussing improvements and also racing up front.

The dream season continues for the Casey’s General Store Pure Stock class. Record high car counts and a stellar run by a rookie continued again last weekend.

Randal Schiffelbein Jr. logged win #6 on the season last week. It kept him at the top of the points standings for another week and it put more confidence into a very confident racer at this time.

Points battles are still evident in this class. When the final checkered flag of the season drops on this class, don’t be surprised if the margin of victory is less than 10 points and don’t be surprised if what you think is going to happen is the exact opposite of what does happen!!!!!

Come out this Saturday night to BriggsAuto.Com Speedway and enjoy V100 Night at the races!
