Armed Forces Night At BriggsAuto.Com Saturday Night

977673_10151481904989285_324796139_oThe drivers of the Super 8 At Forbes Landing Saturday Showdown received a ‘well-deserved’ break last week from racing at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway.

Saturday night, May 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. the dirt track racers will fire up the season one more time for Armed Forces Night at the races.

This race night holds a great significance to the Heartland Park Topeka staff. Every race night Military members who attend the races are allowed in for FREE! (Providing they show a Military I.D.) For those individuals that put their lives on the line for the citizens of the United States, Heartland Park honors them by allowing them free admission. It is a great way to show our U.S. soldiers a token of appreciation.

Racing at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway has been better than ever this season and the show in the stands has been exciting too. Several moms battled it out to find a diamond ring during intermission of the race on May 11th. Saturday night the National Wild Turkey Federation will be providing another firearm to raffle off. Each race night this season, the NWTF has rifled off a gun. It’s a promotion that has generated a lot of buzz on race nights. The NWTF will be back again this week to do it all over again.

The NHRA Kansas Nationals took center stage at Heartland Park last weekend, this week there are several dirt track drivers ready to put their talents on display.

Darron Fuqua has been on a roll this season. In 3 races he has accumulated 3 heat wins and 3 feature wins. Fuqua missed the first night of the season, but after May 11th he took over the top spot in the Washburn Tech Modified standings. Two years ago Fuqua set a single season win mark in the Modified division with 11. Could Fuqua break his own record?

Kerry Davis is just 3 points behind the leader and Robert Shepard is also within striking distance. Last season BriggsAuto.Com Speedway had a different winner more than 50% of the time in the Modifieds. Don’t expect these racers to just roll over for the reigning champion.

Tyler Garst still holds down the top spot in the Casey’s General Store Pure Stock division.

Darrin Christy inherited the feature win two weeks ago after Byron Glotzbach and AJ Christian were disqualified in post race-tech inspection.

The competition level in this class has been on the rise since opening night and should continue that trend this Saturday.

White Line CDL Training B Mods are the most popular division at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway. Jeremy Chambers out raced 28 other drivers to take home the hardware.

A total of 3 different drivers have been to victory lane in the B Mods. This is the most of any division at the track.

In the Ferrellgas Stock car division John O’Neal Jr. celebrated in victory lane with his family. O’Neal, who stepped away from full-time racing to support his son’s race career, drove a flawless race as he ran away with the win.

Terry Schmidt, currently, leads the points, but there are several drivers ready to knock him off the top of the mountain. Will someone else keep Schmidt out of victory Lane this Saturday night?

Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m., hot laps will start at 6:15 p.m. and the first race will go green at 7:00 p.m.

Adult tickets are $12.00, kids 4 through 12 are $6.00 and children 3 and under are free at BriggsAuto.Com Speedway. Military personnel and veterans will be given free admission with proper identification. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at Heartland Park Topeka’s home on the world wide web,
