Salina Speedway Shuffles Lineup To Keep Crowd Excited

SalinaSpeedway (2)Salina, KS – Just like a good baseball manager, Salina Speedway promoter, Tommy Hendrickson knows how to shuffle his lineup once in awhile.

A whopping total of 7 classes of cars reign supreme at Salina Speedway. On average there will usually be 5 classes racing on any given race night. Every now and then there might be 6 or even all 7 racing on one night depending on the situation. Hendrickson keeps the fans happy at Salina Speedway by keeping the show moving and changing things up!

This Friday night, June 20th, the fans will get to see the Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stocks, M&H Motors IMCA Northern Sport Mods, Coors Light Street Stocks and Chamucos Night Club Mini Stocks. It’s a lineup that the fans will enjoy.

In the Belleville IMCA Modifieds there is a 5 car breakaway in the points race. Joe Cleveland is sitting at the top spot, but Mike Petersilie, Brian Knoell, Danny Morrison Jr. and Corey Lagroon are all within 10 points of the leader. It is a toss up on who will take home the hardware this week. Stiff competition will liven this entire class up. Mike Traskowksy stormed from 10th to 1st in the Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stock Feature one week ago. Traskowsky, with the win, held on to the early season points race. One week ago Daniel Gottschalk put on a spectacular drive to win the M&H Motor IMCA Northern Sport Mod Feature. Gottschalk started 14th, but still found a way to pull in the victory. Fans were standing on their feet watching Gottschalk’s memorable run. Austin Carter still sits on top of the chart in the Sport Mod class.

The Chamucos Night Club Mini Stocks and the Coors Light Street Stocks were out of the lineup last week and their drivers are ready to get back to racing.

Russell Roberg won the last night out for the Mini Stocks. In pulling off the win Roberg broke a tie with Stacey Huffman for the top spot in the points. Don’t worry fans it’s only a 1 point difference.

The Street Stocks have taken to the track 4 times this season and they have had 3 different winners to date. Scott Miller, with his win 2 weeks ago, became the first driver in the Street Stocks to win multiple features. This class doesn’t average the highest car count each week, but they do provide their fair share of excitement and then some!

As the staff at Salina Speedway enjoys a strong beginning to the 2014 season, Hendrickson will shuffle his lineup one more time this week to keep the magic going! The track averages nearly 80 cars per week and the fans are showing their support by showing up each and every week. The combination has been a strong one so far. Racing action at Salina Speedway is 2nd to none.

Don’t miss a minute of the upcoming action at Salina Speedway.
