Lakeside/I-35 'Border War' bounty increases

The Border War bounty continues to grow. In 2009 the Border War was introduced in the Grand National class at Lakeside Speedway and I-35 Speedway. During the first part of the season the prize was $100 if someone could win on Friday night at Lakeside and then Saturday night at I-35 (or vice versa) in the Grand National class.

Chad Clancy was the first to collect this bonus. Towards the end of the season track owners Marc Olson and Mike Johnson upped the ante even further by increasing the reward from $100 to $250. Tim Shields collected this new bonus with wins on September 11 and September 12.

In 2010 the owners are announcing an expansion in the Grand National Border War similar to the Factory Stock versus Stock Car Border War. The following benefits apply to those competing at both tracks in the Grand National class:
If you win at Lakeside on Friday and I-35 Speedway the following Saturday or I-35 Speedway on Saturday and the following week at Lakeside Speedway on Friday night you will receive a $250 bonus.

If you finish in the top 2 at one track and follow up with a top 2 finish at the other track the immediate next race night you will receive a $100 bonus.

If you finish in the top 3 at one track and follow up with a top 3 finish at the other track the immediate next race night you will receive a free pit pass.

Additionally, any drivers competing in the Grand National Border War or the Stock class Border War who competes in 75% of the races at both tracks will receive a season ending $100 bonus.
