Mclellan Wins Shortened Factory Stock Feature, Rain Spoils Great Night At Lakeside Speedway

Kansas City , KS - It looked as if Lakeside Speedway was going to catch a break on Friday night, July 30. Unfortunately, it didn't work out the way they wanted it to.

As the cars and fans rolled in for the night, Mother Nature started to unleash her wrath. Clouds and storms started to pop up all around the speedway.

Understanding that a timely show would be needed on the night, Marc Olson and his crack staff got to work.

Heat races in each of the divisions were completed on the night and the Factory Stock main event made it in the books and that's where the story ends.

Caleb Mclellan worked his way to his 2nd feature win of the 2010 season. Mclellan was seeing a strong battle from Justin Siefert, Darin Christy and Nate Barnes.

As Mclellan would be the leader on lap number 10, that was all that was needed to secure a victory. Rain began to come down from the sky and track officials decided to checkered flag the race, giving the win to Mclellan.

The rain continued to come down and Lakeside Speedway owner, Marc Olson, pulled the plug on the rest of the show.

It was a tough break on the evening. Several new drivers had ventured to Lakeside Speedway to compete and after the action in the heat races it was shaping up to be one of those great nights. It never came through.

Next week race fans we get to see the Modified B Feature, Grand National A Feature and the Modified A Feature, which will all be made up from the cancellation of tonight's races. Fans will also get to see a new complete show as well next Friday night. Heats and features will be raced in all classes too.

All the action gets started with the spectator gates opening up at 5 p.m., hot laps will be at 7 p.m. and the first race goes green at 7:30 p.m.
