OCTOBERFAST 2010 AT LAKESIDE SPEEDWAY


October is Fall Festival time, it has also become known as OctoberFast at Lakeside Speedway.  The ‘Budweiser FASTIVAL OF SPEED’, will continue in 2010 on three Fast October nights at Lakeside, October 16th, and 23rd.   With the success of the B Modifieds/Sport Modifieds in October 2010 we will again add this class for these three events.

For the fans: Spectator gates will open at 4, hot laps at 6 and the first race is at 6:30 each night. Adult tickets will be $10.00; kids 8 to 14 are $5.00 and children 7 and under are free. There will be nightly drink and food specials every Saturday night.

For the competitors: This will be a series of non-point races. Draws will be held each night. Pit passes are $25.00 for anyone aged 14 and older. First time competitors (16 and older) must pay a one time registration fee of $30.00. No reserved pit stalls, first come, first taken. Lakeside Speedway Modified, Grand National and Factory Stock rules will apply with the following exceptions;

Home Track:  The track you finished highest in points during the 2010 Racing Season.
Tires for all four classes: McCreary American Racer G-60 or Hoosier G-60-15, with IMCA sidewall stamp. Grooving/siping/grinding allowed. Durometer minimum of 50.
All classes - Safety: Head and neck restraint system highly recommended but not required.  Minimum 5 point seat belt system required. Window nets or arm restraints required.  Fire suits and race helmets meeting SA 2000, required.

Cars leaving track for any reason can not return to race. One unassisted spin in heats, or two in any feature event, then your race is over.

Fuel: No performance additives allowed. 

Modifieds: Normally aspirated stock standard O.E.M. production American make V8 block engines only. No titanium engine parts except valve keepers. Maximum cubic inch is 410 for all engines. Maximum engine compression ratio is 14.1:1. The formula for determining cubic inch displacement is Bore x Bore x .7854 x stroke equals cubic inch displacement of each cylinder x 8 cylinders equals total cubic inch displacement. No aluminum blocks, heads, or dry sumps systems will be allowed. Engine must be self-starting. All engines must be located so that when measured from center of rear axle housing to the rear of the engine (at the bell housing flange) there is a minimum distance of 72 inches. Engine offset must be kept within two inches of centerline of front cross-member with engine level. Engine height minimum will be 11 inches from ground to front center of crankshaft. One 2 or one 4-barrel carburetor. No fuel injection. No electric fuel pumps. No magnetos. Oil coolers must not protrude above interior. Cooling system may be modified. Any overflow tubes must be directed to the ground, between frame rails. Radiators mounted in front of engine only. Bert, Brinn, Falcon, Layne or O.E.M. transmissions allowed. Titanium valve spring retainers approved.  Body Rules – must meet your home track rules for 2010. Lakeside Speedway modifieds may meet the 2011 rules if desired.

Factory Stocks: Lakeside Factory Stocks, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Valley Speedway Street Stocks, Central Missouri Speedway Street Stocks, Heartland Park Topeka Factory and Hobby Stocks, Humboldt Speedway Factory and Hobby Stocks will be allowed to compete. Minimum weight: 3,100 lbs.  For engines 364 cubic inches or less, Carburetor:  unaltered Holley 350 (7448), unaltered Holley 500 (4412) or Quadra Jet.  For engines larger than 365 must use the Holley 4412 or 7448, also must run a rev limiter that restricts RPM at 6800.  No other Holley carburetors allowed.   No aftermarket carburetors. If your home track rules are different please call for verification. Body: No Spoilers.  Lakeside Factory Stocks may meet the 2011 rules if desired.

Grand Nationals: Lakeside and I-35 Speedway Grand National 2010 rules apply. May meet the 2011 rules if desired.

B Modifieds/Sport Modifieds:  As described above your home track rules will apply with the following exception, if your rules allow four barrel carburetor must run a rev limiter with a 6200 chip restriction.

Rules may be adjusted as needed to ensure fairness.

Each classes race night purse based on a minimum of 32 entries per class.
