C.A.R.B. Adds Tracks

This past weekend was a busy weekend for the Central Auto Racing Boosters with a special meeting between the Officers and Board of Directors with two local tracks, the General Membership Meeting following the special meeting, and the 15th Annual Bowlathon.  Brad McDonald, owner of I-70 Speedway, and Mike Johnson, owner of I-35 Speedway LLC. requested to be C.A.R.B. supported tracks for 2008.  Tracks desiring to be C.A.R.B. supported must first make their request and then meet with the Officers and Board of Directors of the organization.  The Officers and Board of Directors vote whether to approve the request and then with their approval, forward the Board recommendation to the general membership for approval.

The Central Auto Racing Boosters are pleased to announce that both tracks passed the Board and Officers vote and the General Membership vote, unanimously, to become the fifth and sixth C.A.R.B. supported tracks for 2008.  Some tough questions were answered during these meeting between the owners and the Board and Officers, including participation in the C.A.R.B Banquet.  I-70 Speedway will continue their own banquet, but I-35 Speedway LLC. will be honoring their Top 10 at the C.A.R.B. banquet.

There are currently proposed amendments to the C.A.R.B. constitution that will be voted on at the March 8, 2008 meeting to introduce a Gold and Blue Membership format for all local tracks desiring to be a part of the Central Auto Racing Boosters. The goal of these amendments is to allow all local tracks to become C.A.R.B. supported tracks.  Additionally, the owners of both tracks had great ideas on how to improve our sport, the club, fan support and how to accomplish the established preamble of the C.A.R.B constitution.  To read the constitution and the proposed amendments please visit www.kccarb.com

C.A.R.B. nights have been set at all six tracks for the following nights:  Lakeside Speedway - May 9, 2008, Valley Speedway - June 20, 2008, Central Missouri Speedway July 12, 2008, I-70 Speedway (Dirt) July 25, 2008 and I-70 Speedway (asphalt) July 26, 2008, and I-35 Speedway LLC. on  August 9, 2008.   On C.A.R.B. Nights C.A.R.B. members with a current membership card are allowed into the grandstands for Free!

Membership in the 56 year old Central Auto Racing Boosters cost $10 per year and allows a person to attend six different tracks on C.A.R.B. Night for free thus saving a person over $50 to attend the races.  Additionally members receive seven newsletters a year keeping them informed on C.A.R.B. events such as C.A.R.B. Nights, the Bowlathon, the Hall of Fame Appreciation Dinner and Induction Ceremony, the season ending banquet, the Snake Saturday Parade and C.A.R.B. Race On, and the date and time of all the general membership meetings.  Again for more information on this organization please visit our website www.kccarb.com
